In early August, I started looking into festivals. And, lo and behold, I found GeekCon.

It's the only geek culture festival in the Urals. Over the course of a single day, it features cosplay shows, lectures, and meet-and-greets with favorite actors, bloggers, artists, and other performers. There are also interactive and entertainment booths, an authors' alley, a geek fair, and other zones open all day.

I found out about it by chance and decided to go. For me, this is my first festival of this kind, and I'm not particularly into cosplay or comics (though that doesn't stop me from being a geek).

My impressions of this festival are indescribable; I expected less from it. I met and spoke with Roman Kotkov and Evgeny Vasilyev - thanks to them for the autographs. A special thanks to Sergey Sivoplyas and his team for organizing the festival.

I'll be looking forward to GeekCon 2026, and I invite you all to come too!
P.S. One person took a ton of awesome photos from the festival; you can check them out here (click).
